This page is a work in progress, so please check back — but here’s a little bit about what is to come…
May 28 & 31 2016 I packed up my Zoom H4n and H2n along with some mic stands and hiked everything to a neighbor’s house. She had an assortment of hummingbird feeders on her porch, and I thought it would be interesting to record them up close. Over 2 or 3 sessions I captured the mirth and character of these amazing tiny birds — their competitive squeaks and the buzz of their wings. Fortunately I didn’t catch anything more ‘literal’ on my gear. While I captured hours of recorded material, much of this got lost in 2016 when my hard drive crashed — which is to say — please learn from my experience, BACK UP YOUR HARD DRIVE. What survived is still enough to make an album. Give me some time, and you will hear these birds up close.
