Motorcycle Rally

This album is currently a work-in-progress.
It is recorded but not yet finished.
Please check back soon.

Having packed up my recording gear and hit the road, on 23September2012 I attended The 31st Annual largest motorcycle rally in Washington State, held in Anacortes, WA.  Welcoming machines of all types, the town’s main-street is lined with motorcycles, leather, colourful charactres, and as I found many very nice people (of course!).

Wait, what’s the name of the event?!?
I’ll get to that….

A stranger to this scene, lugging odd-looking recording equipment no less, I felt very welcome while trying to blend-in for this Archive Of Resonance recording session.  I was allowed to record different aspects of this event and it’s community, including motorcycles and their riders being blessed (I got my gear blessed, too!), positioning in the middle of the street capturing motorcycles in-stereo running up & down both sides of the street, people along the sidewalk seeing the event, and the occasional folk interested in what I was doing.  Interestingly, some thought I was filming the event (with my audio recording gear) while others questioned if I was doing a decibel reading on the behalf of The City of Anacortes.

It was my aim to have this album complete for the 2013 event so that I may bring it back to this community.  I even considered exploring partnering with an organization of riders who raise money for cancer-research to offer this AOR album with proceeds going to their important cause.

But what’s the name of the event?!?

I’m not giving the name of the event.  After the 31st event, I emailed the event to get more information and try to make a connection toward bringing my album back the following year.  It became my impression from the reply I received that if I did anything with their name they they’d sue me.  So, okay, fine — their loss.

Album Description – A surround-sound and 2-way stereo recording of myriad motorcycles and people attending motorcycle rally in a small town. (album idea originally by Andrew Anderson)
